Happy Valentine’s Day! Final Episode of the Origin Story
Over the past days, we’ve peeled back the roses and looked at the man behind the holiday. In 3rd-century Rome, Valentine quietly married couples in secret. It was illegal. It was risky. It cost him his life. And yet, he did it anyway. Not because he was reckless. Not because he wanted attention. But because he believed love was not an inconvenience to society, but part of what made society worth protecting.
History didn’t remember him as a criminal. It made him a Saint. And today, we are celebrating him.
And that is what makes this story timeless. Not the rebellion. Not the punishment. But the quiet conviction and courage to act upon it.
So today, I wish you more than romance. I wish you courage. The Courage to love deeply. The courage to think clearly. And when necessary, the courage to stand on that thin line and choose wisely.
